Obituary

"A mother is the heartbeat of the home, and her love is the thread that binds a family together through generations."

Dorothy Ann Evans, a woman of remarkable warmth, grace, and devotion, passed away at the age of 94. Dorothy was born on July 11, 1931 in Holyrood, Kansas to Henry Nagel and Anna Marie Pauline Reents Nagel. She lived in Kanorado, Kansas for over 50 years and was involved in the farming community there. Dorothy was known for the delicious meals she would cook and always welcomed family and friends for dinners. Her desserts, especially her chocolate chip cookies, were amazing. Later in life, she used her creativity as an interior designer and also as a true artist at heart who found joy in painting.

Dorothy moved to Littleton, CO in 1987. She met Robert Evans at the Littleton United Methodist Church and they were married there on June 17, 1989. Both Dorothy and Bob were active members, contributing to their church family with service and friendship. Their faith was steadfast, and manifested in their love and devotion to everyone around them. They loved to travel around the U.S. visiting family and friends. The most memorable trips were to Alaska to see the beautiful scenery and to Israel to walk the paths where Jesus walked. Since 2020, Dorothy was a cherished resident of the Littleton MorningStar Assisted Living family. To her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Dorothy was a "wonderful" presence who made everyone feel welcome and loved. She will also be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents and her nine siblings: Eilert, Ralph, Leila, Wilmer, Herbert, Helen, Jane, Henry, Jr., Verna and their spouses.

Her immense legacy of love is carried on by:

Her Children: Janet Sammons (Russ), Christine Blackwell (Joseph), Cynthia Logan (George [deceased]), Douglas Wright [deceased] (Melanie).

Step-Children: Rebecca Rader (Radford), Thomas Evans (Ann), and David Evans (Denise).

Grandchildren: Andrea Lamotte (Steve), Heather Wacinski (Chris), Stacy Clark, Marci Yorkman (Darryl), Lauren Wright-Dellipoala (Vinny), Kathleen Wright, Brian Blackwell and Kasey Blackwell [deceased].

Step-Grandchildren: Chris Evans, Carrie Caruthers, Lauren Atcheson, Earl Evans, Jennifer Evans, Sara Amberg, and Gina Mohn.

The Generations Beyond: 28 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. “Her children rise up and call her blessed” – Proverbs 31:28

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Dorothy's honor to Littleton United Methodist Church, 5894 S. Datura St., Littleton, CO 80120
