Donna Glee Fahy Hudson was born on October 19, 1949, in Denver, Colorado. She was the daughter of Donald and Dorothy Fahy and grew up as the eldest child in a household shaped by her father’s strong work ethic as a Gates manager and her mother’s devotion to home and family. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver, Donna continued her education at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education for English.

Donna met Larry Hudson in 1967, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, commitment, and shared purpose. Together, they created a life centered on family, one that Donna carried forward with grace until her passing on April 17, 2026.

Donna devoted herself to raising two children, caring for her home, and remaining actively involved in church and school life. Throughout her life, she worked in a variety of roles, ultimately retiring in 2020, as a secretary at Bethel Lutheran Church. Following her retirement, she embraced what she considered her most meaningful role—caregiver to her youngest grandson—a responsibility she carried with deep love and devotion.

In every role she held, whether at work or at home, her compassion and kindness were constant. Yet it was her ability to truly see people that left the deepest impression. She had a rare gift for making others feel valued and understood. Whether speaking with a grocery store clerk, a wrong number on the telephone, a fellow church member, a gas station attendant, or one of her children’s closest friends, Donna met everyone with the same sincerity and respect.

Family was the heart of Donna’s life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Dorothy Fahy.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Larry Ray Hudson; her children, Amy Schallert and her husband Gary, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Cody Mooney and her husband Ben, of Aurora, Colorado; and her grandchildren, Ryan and Allie Schallert, Casey Schallert, Evan Schallert, Trevor Schallert, Julia Schallert, and Hudson Mooney. Donna is further survived by extended family members and a wide circle of friends whose lives were enriched by her love. Though her earthly journey has ended, the path she walked continues through all those who carry her memory forward.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 26th, at 12:30pm, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1450 South Airport Blvd., Aurora with fellowship and meal to follow. Please honor Donna by wearing bright colors, as that is what she loved. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church.
