Donna Maria Doyle
Born April 1st, 1951 – July 1st, 2024, 73 years of living and making memories!
Donna was born in Denver CO to James and Sally (Romano) Doyle.
She graduated from Lincoln high school in 1969
From an early age she fell in love with horses. Donna went to the racetrack full time as soon as she graduated; she started at Centennial in Colorado and traveled to many other states as well. She embraced many roles in the Horse Racing industry: a pony girl, groom, as well as an assistant trainer, to being an owner and trainer; but most of all a loving Friend. Donna would help anyone in need and give someone down on their luck her last dime.
Donna started working for Jefferson County in the mid 1980’s to provide for her family. She always kept a strong interest and part ownership in horse racing during that time. When she retired from the county over 20 years later, she went right back to the racetrack. We all knew where her heart was. She was able to travel to New Mexico and Montana as well as race locally in Colorado; training and owning her horses. She made several new friends and spent time with her good ol’ friends too. She won races and made memories along the way. When Donna started spending less time at the track it was only to spend more time with her granddaughter Jacelyn, her pride and joy!
Donna always had a smile on her face, a song in her heart, loved people & was always up for a good time! She will be deeply missed.
Donna is survived by her daughter Jaime (Jeremy) Walton of Elbert CO; Granddaughter Jacelyn Walton of Elbert CO.
2 Nephews: Tony Doyle Diamond Springs CA; Dan Doyle Wheat Ridge CO
Donna is proceeded in death by her Father and Mother James & Sally Doyle, her brother Jim Doyle and his wife Mary.
