Donald (Don) Taylor

June 18, 1944 — January 31, 2022

Donald (Don) John Taylor, PhD, ABPP, age 77 passed away peacefully the morning of January 31, 2022.

Don was born to John Charles Taylor and Helen Dashen in Greeley, Colorado and grew up with two older sisters, Alice Dalby of Golden, CO and Diana Michel of North Carolina. John was the owner of Greeley Plumbing and Heating Don was known for many things, including his excellence in sports from Little League as a child to Basketball in High School to golf. He was a member of Greeley Wildcats when they won the High School State Championship in 1962. He was a trophy-winning golfer, as well as an award-winning table tennis player. He was also a late in life artist.

He Found a career in psychology and then neuropsychology, working with the Department of Veteran Affairs for 25 years. Pursuing his interest in traumatic brain injury, he became one of the first in Colorado to become boarded in neuropsychology with the American Board of Professional Psychology in 1992. He was well respected in the professional community not only for his expertise, but for his fairness and sense of justice as well as his easy-going charm.

His loss will be felt by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and friends. In addition to his wife of 50 years, Janet (Parks) Taylor of Littleton, CO, he leaves behind their son Nick and his wife Bridget Kiely, daughter Amy and her husband Joseph Method, and their two children, granddaughters Dorothy and Zadie.

Contributions can be made to any of the many Brain Injury Research organizations.

A private Celebration of Life will be held.
