Donald Wayne Olds, US Army (Ret), passed away peacefully July 6, 2014 at the age of 82 at St. Andrew's Village where he had resided for the past year. He was born June 29, 1932 to Ellery and Selma (Summers) Olds in Moberly, Missouri. His parents and his two brothers, Robert Olds and Jack Olds, precede Donald in death. He is survived by his ex-wife Ruth M. Olds, daughters Tamara R. Beckham (Lin), and Darice Olds-Mason (Jeff), grandchildren Andrew Beckham, Joshua Beckham, Matthew Mason, Krista Mason, and a nephew Mark Olds. Donald was a graduate of Lexington Missouri Junior Senior High School, Lexington Wentworth Military Academy, and the University of Missouri. He played baseball, football, and basketball for many years during and after his school years. He was an avid sports fan. Donald retired from the U.S. Army as a Lt. Colonel after 21 years serving his country including time in many parts of the United States, Europe, Vietnam, Thailand, and Korea. A Memorial Service is will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 12:30 PM at Praise Church, 6054 South Kipling Parkway, in Littleton.
