Donald W. Nelson

Donald Werner Nelson, age 78, a resident of Covenant Village, Westminster, Colorado passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2015 after battling Parkinson's disease for well over 40 years. Don was born on September 8, 1936 to parents, George and Matilda Nelson. Don was raised in Port Huron, Michigan where he attended Trinity Lutheran School. Upon graduation, Don enlisted in the USAF, where he remained stateside while earning his Bachelor degree in Business Administration. Don Married Carolyn Ann Hoyt of Jeddo, Michigan on July 12, 1958 and after several years of various job transfers around the country the family settled permanently in Lakewood, Colorado in 1971. Don is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn; daughter, Lori (Dan) Keesey; son, Kurt (Connie) Nelson; granddaughters, Melissa (Shane) Nolan, Courtney (Clint) Bowen, Amanda (Doug) Kegerreis, Chelsea Nelson and Carlea Nelson as well as 6 great grandchildren, Caleb, Haley, Addison, Colton, Tyler and Tinsley. A memorial service will be held in Donald's honor on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Covenant Village of Colorado, 9221 Wadsworth Park Way, Broomfield, Colorado 80021.
