Donald (Pinky) Grieve, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014 at approximately 10:35 PM, at the age of 81. He was born to Thomas Grieve and Anna McAlpin. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years on August 5, 2010, his sister Julia, brothers Thomas, Benjamin, Anthony, Francis (Corky) and Daniel, and his beloved cousin Joseph. He is survived by three children; Donna Chaney, Dean (Lynn) Grieve, and Daniel (Cindy) Grieve: Three grandsons; James, Thomas and Coleman: Sister-in-law Mary Ann Oliver: Brother-in-law James Tarantino: Numerous nieces and nephews: Nephew-in-law/friend Andrew Jones: Rare, lifelong friends, neighbors and fellow firefighters. Everyone who knew my dad is devastated by the loss of him. Donald served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955 on Destroyer Escort USS Silverstein. Donald went to the Denver Fire Department in 1961 and retired from the Denver Fire Department in 1986. He always told Dean and Dan and me: ""Find a job you love and you will never ""work"" a day in your life."" We followed that advice! In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted by the Denver Fire Dept. Federal Credit Union, 2201 Federal Blvd., Denver, CO 80211 for a Fire Dept. charity on Pinky's behalf.
