Don Forst, of Highlands Ranch, died April 9th, at Wind Crest Retirement Community.

He was born September 5th, 1932, in New York City.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara “Bobbie” Forst, sons, Robert, John (Maribeth), Gregory (Roxy), and Wayne. He is also survived by his grandchildren Allison (Tigran) Garabekyan, Nathan Blu and Nicole Blu; sister and brother-in-law, Carol, and Jules Green.

Preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruth, son Lance and his first wife Elizabeth “Betty” Forst whom he was married to for 48 years.

Don enjoyed travel, painting with his wife Bobbie and later in retirement writing fiction novels.

Don’s skill in art was observed at a very early age. This led to acceptance to study at a High School of Music and Art. Following High School, through competitive examinations, he was accepted to the highly renowned College, The Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture, In New York City. Don’s dynamic oil on canvas painting, display the exploration of color and a playful examination of the human figure. His work was described as Whimsical Expressionism.
