Donald Bruce Center

July 18, 1947 — June 23, 2025

Donald Bruce Center, 77, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, in Englewood, Colorado.

Born on July 18, 1947, in Syracuse, New York, Donald was a man of deep faith and enduring love for his family. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he lived a life guided by service, kindness, and a lifelong passion for learning. One of his favorite adventures was serving a Mission for the Church with his wife in Tacoma, WA.

Donald spent his young adult years attending colleges to get his degrees, Idaho State University, the University of Houston, and University of Illinois. His spent his career teaching college-level business and communication courses, earning the respect and affection of countless students. Known for his approachable nature and dry sense of humor, he often joked that students could win him over with chocolate; — a tradition that became part of his classroom charm.

Originally from New York, Donald lived in several places such as New York, Idaho, Texas, South Dakota, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, and Colorado (moved here to marry Loralee and stayed here for over 25 years). A lifelong Yankees fan, he followed the team with fierce loyalty. He also enjoyed playing fantasy sports, listening to classic Elvis Presley tunes, and watching John Wayne films — finding joy and comfort in the stories and sounds that shaped his generation. He loved writing and wrote several books.

In his later years, Donald and his wife, Loralee, welcomed a dog named Roxy into their lives. She quickly became his loyal companion and a beloved member of the family.

He is survived by his wife, Loralee (Cook) Center; his children: Steven, Shannon, Daniel, and Mary; (preceded in death by his daughters Deseree and Alisha); stepchildren Nichol and Zach; numerous grandchildren (32) and great-grandchildren (15--); and is also survived by two loving brothers Allan (Lisa) and Paul (Mary) and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

A viewing will be held at Horan & McConaty in Centennial, Colorado, on June 30th, at 6-8pm. A graveside service will follow in Grant, Idaho, on July 5 at 11:00 a.m.
