Diedra Zeine Daugherty went home to God when she passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, while surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Dale E. Daugherty, her parents, Lt. Col. (Ret.) US Air Force Donald A. Zeine and Madelyn Zeine and her sister, Satin (David) Zeine-Johnson. Diedra is survived by her children, Benjamin Dale of Black Forest, CO, Sarah Coghlan of Black Forest, CO, Jennifer (AddieJo) Dale of Denver, CO, Philip (Kimberly) Daugherty of Gilbert, AZ, Megan (Joshua) Mitchener of Burlington, CO, and Mikaela Daugherty of Gilbert, AZ; grandchildren Sean and Ethan Bryant, Cora Coghlan and Gabriel Daugherty, Lily, Charlotte, and Anson Daugherty, and Harper and Delilah Dale.
Diedra was born on February 3, 1951, in Montgomery, AL. She grew up around the world with her family serving in the Airforce. She was a lifelong nurse, continuing to care for patients directly well after moving into management and opening her own home health care agency. She worked in the Intensive Care and Cardiac Surgical hospital units and on Flight-for-Life missions. She built the Pueblo branch of her company as one that welcomed new professionals and helped them grow, befriending and mentoring employees, welcoming children into the office when staff didn’t have childcare, and creating an atmosphere of warmth and excellence. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, hosting family whenever she could, loving and supporting them both near and far. She had a fantastic sense of humor, and a strong and open heart. She was a part of the King of Kings congregation and long-time Pueblo resident before moving to Denver to be closer to her children as she navigated her Alzheimer's diagnosis. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, photography, cooking, and gardening.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Funeral service, 1 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 2561 Vinewood Ln Pueblo, CO 81005, with Pastor Bill Dohle officiating and a reception to follow. The family would like to thank Maria, Betty, Oki, and all the staff at Shalom Park in Aurora, CO, who helped care for her with love and respect.
