Dianne Tamblyn, loving wife, mom, mother-in-law and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home in Westminster, CO surrounded by her family on July 11, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on February 21, 1946, in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. Dianne attended Mansfield State University in Mansfield, PA where she received her bachelor’s degree in education. Dianne taught special needs children at Wyoming Valley Cripple Children’s Association for several years. She married Chuck Tamblyn of Forty Fort, PA on January 15, 1971. They lived in Wyoming, PA where they had 2 sons, Chuck Jr and Mike. Dianne assisted at the family business, Tamblyn Company, for many years before her and Chuck decided to take a leap and move the family to Stowe, VT in 1982, where they purchased the Snowdrift Motel. Dianne loved raising her family in beautiful Stowe – running the boys to ski at Mt Mansfield or play tennis at Stowe Tennis Club, always with a smile! Dianne loved being part of the community, working at Stowe Free Library, serving on the board of the Stowe Tennis Club, and always supporting Chuck running the Snowdrift. Dianne and Chuck loved to travel, including ski trips to Colorado with their boys, where they ultimately all relocated. She had an amazing memory and was extremely kind to all whom she met. Dianne loved being a mom and grandmother. Her grandchildren (who all affectionately called her DiDi) were the center of her life and brought her so much joy. Dianne played an active role in helping raise her grandchildren and always made plans getting the cousins together, in addition to gatherings with the whole family. Dianne meticulously balanced the role of wife, parent, grandparent and friend. She loved nature and animals, especially her dog Daisy. She always had words of encouragement and support and a willingness to listen. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Chuck Sr, sons Chuck Jr and Mike, daughters-in-law Jenni and Steph, and grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, Andrew and Peyton. Her family was extremely fortunate to have Dianne in their lives, she will be deeply missed.
A small family funeral service will take place at Horan & McConaty at 7577 W 80th Avenue Arvada, CO 80003 on July 25th. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the United Way.
