Butch was born on October 25, 1944 in Spokane, Washington and raised by her parents Charley and Yvonne Frey.  Butch spent the early years of her life in the Mission Valley, graduated from St. Ignatius High School, and attended Western Montana College. During her 2 years at Western she met the love of her life Dick Walker.  They were married on August 22,1964 at the St. Ignatius Mission Church.  Their married life began in Phillipsburg, Montana while Dick student taught.  Their next several years were spent on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, where Butch began her teaching career in a one-room school house in Blackfoot.  As they continued their teaching careers in Blackfoot and Browning, they were blessed with two children, Rick and Kristin.

The Walker family moved to Missoula, where Butch completed her Bachelor’s Degree in education and Dick earned his Master’s Degree from the University of Montana.  Their next adventure took them to Simms, Montana where they spent their lives raising their kids, teaching, loving and improving the lives of many.  Butch spent the remaining years of her teaching career at Sun River Middle School where she loved teaching and developed lifelong friendships that continued throughout her life.  Shortly after losing Dick in 1995, Butch retired from teaching and relocated to Carson City, Nevada to follow her grandsons Zane and Kage throughout their high school years.  After the boys graduated, Butch moved to Colorado to be closer to Kristin.  While in Colorado she resided at Concordia on the Lake, a retirement community in Littleton, Colorado. She loved being on the “Rebel Floor” where she met fantastic friends and had numerous adventures.

Butch enjoyed creating monthly and holiday floral arrangements that she proudly displayed outside her door at Concordia.  Her family and friends were regularly regaled with her amazing adventures (cultural and culinary) while living at Concordia.

She is survived by her daughter Kristin, her son Rick and his wife Bobbi, two grandsons Zane and Kage and two granddaughters, Whitely and Taryn, brother Charley Frey and his wife Jackie, and sisters Laurie Randall and her husband Larry and Faunda Rae Miller and her husband Dale.
