Obituary

Diane Ellen Lekic (Noonan) passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 23, 2026 at the age of 88, leaving behind a legacy of strength, wit, integrity and loyalty that will be remembered by all who knew her.

Born to Albert and Phyllis Noonan on August 1, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, Diane grew up in a large family, the 4th of seven children. Diane was named after the song ‘Smile for me, Diane’ from the 1927 movie Seventh Heaven and her great aunt (Ellen Noonan) who raised her father. From an early age, Diane had two passions – her faith and sports. She was a devout Catholic who grew up in the church. In addition to her faith, she was an avid sports fan, even hosting a sports radio talk show in high school.

Diane married her husband, Lawrence Anthony Lekic in 1967 in Chicago before eventually settling in Littleton, Colorado where they raised their two children – Jeanene Therese Reeves and John Lawrence Lekic.

Diane was fiercely independent and enjoyed working outside of the home. She was employed at a number of savings and loans and accounting firms.

Once settled in Colorado, Diane and Larry became parishioners of St. Frances Cabrini where Diane taught catechism and the couple started a monthly dinner club that lasted for over forty years. Diane also loved travel, including trips with her sister and friends when she was younger and then with Larry and the children while married.

Diane is lovingly survived by one daughter Jeanene Reeves (Don) of Parker, Colorado; one son John Lekic (Marcy Heronimus) of Littleton, Colorado; one granddaughter Marisa KayEllen Reeves of Denver, Colorado; one grandson Benjamin Thomas Heronimus of Los Angeles, California; two sisters Marie Therese Noonan and Carolyn Parmer both of Winnetka, Illinois; two brothers Gerald Noonan (MaryLee) and Francis Noonan (Karen) of Chicago, Illinois as well as numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Larry on January 20, 2011; her parents; two brothers, Albert (Bud) Noonan and Larry Noonan; brother-in-law Harold Lekic; sister-in-law Mary Lekic, and brother-in-law Jack Parmer.

Services will be held Tuesday May 26, 2026, at 1:30pm at the Horan & McConaty South Metro/Centennial Family Chapel
