Dennis Ernest Vigil

July 21, 1946 — January 25, 2026

Broomfield

Dennis Ernest Vigil, born July 21, 1946, in San Luis, Colorado, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026. Rooted in the traditions of the San Luis Valley and shaped by a life of service, hard work, and devotion to family, Dennis leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished for generations.

Dennis was preceded in death by his dear wife, Nora Marie Vigil, his parents Julia C. Vigil and Ernesto A. Vigil, and his brothers Larry Vigil and Victor Vigil.

A longtime resident of Westminster, Colorado, Dennis built a life defined by loyalty, resilience, and quiet strength. He is survived by his daughter Nicole Vigil and her daughters Vanessa and Valerie; and by his son Devin Vigil, Devin’s wife Janel, and their children Jonah, Josiah, and Lilianna. His family was the pride of his life, and he carried their love with him everywhere he went.

Dennis served his country honorably in the United States Navy, working as a Navy Seabee aboard the USS Soley DD 707 destroyer. After his military service, he dedicated decades to his craft as a Journeyman and Master Electrician, proudly working with IBEW Local 68 and the Steel Workers of America. His career took him across the country—from power plant projects in California to the restoration of the Statue of Liberty in New York—and eventually back home to Colorado, where he spent many years working at Rocky Flats.

A man of skill and passion, Dennis loved restoring and working on his classic Chevy cars and found freedom on the open road riding his Harley‑Davidson motorcycle. His hands were always busy, his mind always curious, and his heart always steady.

Above all, Dennis was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. In his early years, he traveled wherever work called, doing whatever it took to provide for his family. His sacrifices, his guidance, and his unwavering love shaped the lives of those who knew him best.

Dennis will be remembered for his integrity, his craftsmanship, and the deep pride he took in his family. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit lives on in the stories, lessons, and love he leaves behind.

May Dennis be welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord, reunited with those who went before him, and granted the eternal peace he so faithfully believed in. As we entrust him to God’s mercy, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in the love he shared, the work of his hands, and the family he cherished.

May the light of Jesus Christ guide him home, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
