Dennis Haynes

Dennis C. Haynes, 78, of Littleton, Co. passed away on 12-4-2020 after 2 years of fighting to recover from strokes. Born in Denver on 10-18-1942 to Edwin “Chick” and Elva (Kershner) Haynes. Growing up in Aurora, he enjoyed playing little league baseball, Denver Bears baseball, demolition derbies at Lakeside Amusement Park and hanging out with friends.

He graduated from Aurora Central High School in 1960 and went on to receive his BS in Marketing/Finance from the University of Colorado Boulder. It was there that he met Anne Fiellin, they married and raised three children while living in several states and traveling abroad.

Dennis began his career in leasing/ finance with US Leasing, and then Bell Atlantic, Avnet Computer, DBA and then formed a partnership in Saulsbury Hill Financial where he worked until retirement.

Dennis and his wife, Joyce, were close friends in high school and reconnected at their 50th high school reunion and a beautiful romance followed.  During their 10 years together, he loved every minute of time with his families and life long friends, cruising, experiencing new things, seeing new places, and meeting interesting people along the way.

Dennis was a kind, caring and hard working man who loved his families and friends deeply. He was a loving and protective big brother. He loved to laugh. He had a gift of making people feel like they were the center of his attention, and he meant it. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather (Gump), step father, step grandfather (Denpa), brother, brother in law, uncle, cousin and friend.  He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Edwards Nelligan Haynes, his sons, Phil (Kathryn), Adam (Hilary) and his daughter Valerie Stidman (Chris), step sons Steve Nelligan (Melissa), Jeff Nelligan (Alison), step daughter Sherrill Nelligan Doran, his beloved grandchildren Hannah, William, Elizabeth, Owen, Pete, Cassie, his beloved step grandchildren Ben, Grant, Kate, Luke, Clare, Tyler, Connor, Will, sister Pamela Haynes Karet (Ira), many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Anne, aunts, uncles, several cousins and some dear friends.

In lieu of funeral services, celebrations of his life will be held at a later date.
