Delmer Luetjen

Delmer “Del” Luetjen went to be with his heavenly Father on July 4th 2024.

 Del joined the Air Force right out of high school and served 24 years. It was when Del was stationed in Germany that he met his wife Irmgard “Lou”.

 Del and Lou were married for 57 years until her passing in 2014. Del was also preceded in death by his parents Gust and Olinda, brother Herbert, sister Ruth and son Richard. Del is survived by his 3 other children - Patricia, Michael and Diana, four grand children - Denise, Lee, Christopher and Ashley, two great grand children - Kyan and Levi. 

Del was born Dec 15, 1934 in Freedom Township, Lafayette County, Missouri and grew up in Concordia Missouri. 

After retiring from the Air Force in 1977, Del started another 18 year career with the Department of Interior, fully retiring in 1995. In 1997 Del and Lou moved to Las Vegas, where they remained until Lou’s passing. During his time in the Air Force, Del was stationed in Iceland, Germany, Turkey, and Thailand. In the U.S he was stationed in California, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Colorado. 

He loved helping out whenever he could and however he could. Del was always ready with a smile and laugh. 

Del will be greatly missed by his family and the many lives he touched. 

A Cemetery Service will be hosted for the immediate family.
