Debbie Newton

Debbie, daughter of Ben and Betty Collings, was born and raised in Louisville, Ky. During her senior year in high school, she moved to Minnesota. After graduating she went to work for the Hartford Insurance Co. and later Great American insurance Co in Cincinnati. In 1979 she was transferred to Denver where she met Chuck in 1981. Debbie and Chuck dated until 1986, when they were married at Duncan Memorial Chapel in Louisville. Debbie had her first child, Emily in 1988 at which point she retired from Great American. Her second child, Matt was born in 1991 prompting their family to move to Highlands Ranch in 1992.

Debbie and family started attending Cherry Hills Community Church in 1988, where she joined MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and later became a MOPS Mentor. In 2017, they started attending Greenwood Community Church where she continued to be a MOPS Mentor.

Over the years Debbie was also involved in the following ministries:

Thrive Ministries: Debbie mentored women in the mission field. She specifically helped run the clothing boutique at Thrive events.

Enlighten Foundation: Debbie helped educate and empower women. She served the ministry in gypsy villages in Romania.

Restoration Outreach Programs: Debbie was part of the GED program, serving disadvantaged people.

CrossPurpose: Debbie mentored disadvantaged people, and as an Ally and helped them train for and get jobs.

She served in the role of Elder at Greenwood community Church.

Debbie was also involved in mentoring one-on-one, outside of official ministry work. 

Her greatest achievement was being a grandmother to 5 wonderful grandchildren: Adones, Kassidy, Reuel, James, and Lewis.
