Arvada

Deanna Faye Webb Allred, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on November 7, 2025 with her sweetheart by her side. Deanna was a delightful ray of sunshine and a sincere friend to everyone she met. Her infectious laugh and constant optimism will be missed dearly by many.

Deanna was born to Golden Joseph Webb and Erma Louise Brown on November 29, 1937 in Salt Lake City. She grew up in the Rose Park area of Salt Lake City as the oldest of four children (Deanna, Richard, Nadene, and Glen). At West High she met her high school sweetheart, Dan Clay Allred. Dan eyed Deanna first and loved her giggle. At the start of their senior year, he asked her to go steady. Deanna replied that they could try it for two weeks. “It’s been a long two weeks.” After dating their senior year, Dan proposed to her on Ensign Peak, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on August 16, 1957. Deanna was Dan’s +“Sugarbabe” for 68 years. Together they had four children Karl (Jill), Gordon (Verna), Lori (Scott), and Douglas (Wendy). They are grandparents of 12 and great-grandparents of 19 to date.

Deanna was always thinking of others even until the end. She was always visiting and making meals for others. So much so that her kids would often see a cake on the counter and ask “Who is that for?” A devout diet soda drinker, she started each day with a can and a straw while “putting on her face,” and reading her scriptures. She had a cheery and zippy personality, laughing easily, and finding great joy in the little things. She loved cotton candy, parades, and carousels. Her eyes would tear up going ‘round, riding carousels all the way up to 85 years old. Deanna was the definition of FOMO. She loved going to every church social, party and family gathering, near or far. No matter how much of a mess it made, she always brought the fun; be it whipped cream, water balloons, or Holy Schorgel (our family-made game).

An avid people person, Deanna made everyone feel loved and took a genuine interest in everyone she met. She served in many church callings, worked at Sears in customer service, and was a receptionist for Village Inn corporate offi ces. She also sold Avon for a time but probably visited more than she sold products.

She was a loving and attentive mother, never missing a concert, game, or school event, always cheering loudly. When each of her 12 grandkids came along, she was adamant to take Grandpa to every milestone, graduation, and wedding. At any gathering she insisted on taking multiple photos (much to Grandpa’s chagrin). She never missed sending a personalized “birthday card” and was previously the director of “Camp Grandma” for many years.

Together Dan and Deanna enjoyed going to adult stake dances, watching movies, and playing games with friends. Later they made it a priority to visit grandkids often. Deanna and Dan also served a service mission in the Hmong Branch and a full-time mission in the Colorado North Mission, taking care of cars and supplies.

In her later years, Deanna’s favorite thing to do was sit in the driveway in the shade of the apple tree, waving and chatting with neighbors walking by. As her mobility diminished, she continued to show love to others by calling those in need of friendship and cheer.

She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ with all her heart and taught her family to love the Savior. We can’t wait to be with her again. The best is yet to come.
