David Nick Vickles, age 75 passed away on January 13, 2014. He was born on January 28, 1938 in Lafayette, Colorado to Mary and Pete Vickles. David is survived by five children: Tana, David, DeAnn, Michael, and Gina. Nine grand children: Clinton, Jordan, Kaytlin, Davlyn, Colton, Dalton, Micah, Ian and Alyssa. Three great grand children: Kolby, Levi, and Leah. Those who love him, and are heartbroken by his passing, knew David by many titles: Son, Brother, Dad, Pops, Grandpa, Papa Tank, Tank, Big Dave, Buck, Coach, Mr. Vick. Although many of these names have been heard, over and over, all of us knew him as a great role model and friend. From his humble beginnings as the sixth child, of eight children, growing up in Lafayette, Colorado a foundation was formed of strong values and character. He was a passionate, hardworking man at times working multiple jobs. He loved unconditionally; committed to his family and Jesus Christ. He touched the lives of many and lit rooms with his presence. He enjoyed music, gardening, gatherings, cooking, and a good meal. These attributes shaped our family and are a direct testament to the lives we live. David has gone home now, guided by his faith and by the light of those he has loved and lost. At last he is with them and his Creator - leaving those of us who grieve with the memories he gave, and the good he did. David leaves a legacy of friends and family who have been touched by his love and kindness. May God bless David and may he rest in eternal peace.
