Joy and fortitude are two words that best describe Dave’s life. He grew up in Akron, Ohio and obtained his undergraduate degree from Ohio State University (Go Bucks!). Soon after, he joined the U.S. Navy to become a Naval Flight Officer, where he met his first wife, Christine, and eventually had two beautiful girls, Carmela and Amanda. After serving the U.S. Navy, Dave pursued his MBA from Loyola University Chicago. With all this education under his belt, Dave moved up the corporate ladder, ultimately becoming a CFO of companies, most notably Colorado Barricade, where he met his best friend, Ted. Dave was very successful from a professional standpoint. Dave, however, would say that his biggest accomplishment would be being a father to his children and a husband to his wife, Magnolia, who brought him three more children – Trajan, Tiara, and Toni. Playing the role of a father was something Dave thoroughly enjoyed, even in the last few years of his life. Dave was present at all school dances, sports practices and tournaments, talent shows, etc. and taught his children the most basic to the most complicated life skills all with pure love. Dave made every holiday special, like during Easter when he made the most extravagant Easter baskets and set up Easter egg hunts. Magnolia was the apple of Dave’s eye – his face lit up whenever she was around. No moment with Dave was forgettable, even when he battled the effects of terminal brain cancer for over two years. He tried his best to stay fit and eat well, and most importantly, still be present and engaged for his family. With his wife by his side, he felt unstoppable. Dave’s happiness radiated brilliantly. Everyone who’s ever had the honor to meet Dave would say that he had the most beautiful, infectious smile. Dave, at age 58, joined his Creator peacefully on November 1st, 2021 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family. Viewing, funeral services, burial and reception details are shown below.
