David P. Mata, age 46, passed away in Thornton, Colorado on September 15th, 2024. He passed peacefully with a dear family friend at his side.

David did attend Centaurus high school, where he met and maintained lifelong friendships, a testament to many lifelong relationships he would go on to cherish, but did receive his GED. He was a dedicated and highly appreciated employee of Merritt Aluminum Products for the last 17 years.

His greatest accomplishment was being a loving & devoted father & son! David was an only child & is survived by his mother Rosalie M. Mata and his only child Shyla L. Mata

“Mata” as he was referred to by many, was an avid outdoorsman & fisherman. He loved cooking and hosting BBQ’s for his friends, but especially family; building model cars, playing video games & cheering on his favorite NFL team, the Raiders! “David will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family & friends.”

Funeral services will take place at 10:00 am at Horan & McConaty 9998 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. A celebration of Life ceremony to take place after at the American Legion Post 22 located at 11081 Irma Dr, Northglenn, CO 80233.
