David Lopez Jr., age 24, passed away far too soon, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and a son who will forever carry his memory forward.
David is survived by his beloved son, Eden Lane Lopez Moore; his mother, Marisol Loya; his father, David Lopez Sr.; his brother, Isaac Lopez; his sister, Zelena Lopez; and his cherished niece, Sama Bah.
Those who knew David will remember his thoughtful mind, quiet curiosity, and competitive spirit. He loved playing chess and enjoyed video games that challenged him to think strategically, solve problems, and test his abilities. Whether he was mastering a difficult game or studying a new strategy, David appreciated anything that made him think.
Basketball was another passion of his, and he enjoyed both watching and playing the game. He also had a deep fascination with history, particularly military history. He spent countless hours researching historical wars, learning about fighter planes from different eras, and exploring the stories of those who shaped the past. His thirst for knowledge reflected a sharp intellect and a genuine curiosity about the world around him.
Above all else, David loved being a father. His family often said that Eden was his "hobby," a simple but meaningful way of expressing just how much David loved spending time with his son. Whether he was playing with him, making him laugh, or simply holding him close, David cherished every moment he had with Eden. Though their time together was far too short, the love David had for his son was unmistakable. Being Eden's dad brought him joy, purpose, and some of his happiest moments.
David's favorite colors were red and blue, simple reminders that will forever bring thoughts of him to those who loved him most.
While David's life was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will endure. He will be remembered as a devoted father, beloved son, caring brother, proud uncle, and treasured friend. His presence brought meaning to the lives of many, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Though words cannot fully capture the loss felt by his family and friends, they find comfort in knowing that the moments they shared with David—the laughter, conversations, and love—will remain with them always.
A funeral service honoring David's life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80246.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
