David Kocholek Sr.

David Kocholek, Sr of Sharon, PA passed away in his sleep at his home in Aurora, CO. on November 15, 2024. 

He graduated in 1962 from Reynolds high school, where he lettered in basketball. He also played baseball for the Babe Ruth league as a pitcher who was being scouted by both the minor and major leagues. 

In 1962, he chose instead to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force, SAC, and earned the rank of Airman First Class, and was honorably discharged in 1968. 

He and Valerie, married and moved to Colorado in 1979. He worked in security and retired as a Federal Officer in 1995. He was an avid fisherman, loved the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies as well as the Cleveland Indians. 

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Valerie, son Michael, daughter Candi (Lenny) Dixon, siblings Karen Loutzenhiser and Robert Kocholek, his grandsons Corey Dixon, Peter (Destiny) Dixon and great grandson Oliver Dixon. 

He was predeceased by his son David Kocholek, Jr and both his parents Louis and Helen Kocholek. 

His family thanks him for his love and support. David, you've given as much as anyone could be expected to do, so take your place of honor among those who've gone before and know you'll be remembered for now and evermore. You've earned your wings
