David Howard Dossett, of Golden, Colorado passed away at a local hospital on May 21, 2025. He was 84 years old. Dave was born July 12, 1940 in Newton, Alabama to the late Bascomb and Lucille (Bailey) Dossett.
He attended High School in Newton, Alabama where he Played High School football and basketball and graduated in the class of 1958 of Newton High School as Salutatorian.
He began fishing as a young boy in Hurricane creek near Newton, Alabama
He began his career as a lab technician at the Georgia Kaolin Company developing technical ceramics. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Metropolitan State University in Minneapolis, Minnesota while working for 3M in their technical ceramics sales division. After 3M he moved with his family to Norfolk, Nebraska where he work in technical sales at Dale Electronics. From there he moved to Golden, Colorado where he worked for Coors Porcelain for 9 years as the Sales Manager of Technical ceramics used in Electronic Applications.. Upon leaving Coors Porcelain, he established a very successful electronic marketing firm of which he was President for 15 years before retiring at 62 years old.
He was married for 51 years to Michele Brown Dossett. Family and friends were extremely important to him and he loved reading, working in his yard and playing with his dogs. He especially enjoyed travelling in his retirement. He loved and was totally devoted to his family and extremely fond of his dogs. Dave was active for many years in the Fairmont community organization. He was an avid hunter & fisherman and fished all over including trips to Canada, Alaska and even on a trip to New Zealand. He especially loved trolling for walleye and northern pike. David loved to cook and was a Connoisseur of southern cooking and making sweet tea and he remains an avid University of Alabama football fan (Roll Tide)
David exhibited a life of integrity that was his guiding principle. He not only believed in truth, he lived the truth. He was loyal, respectful and humble. He had great compassion for others and believed in fairness for all. Although he never served, he was a true patriot and had great respect for the military and especially for his brother Warren's service as an Army helicopter pilot both in Vietnam and Desert Storm.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Michele Brown Dossett and children Deborah Stewart, Brad Moorman, Bruce Moorman and Melinda (Mindy) Dossett-Samad. Also grandchildren Elin, Devan, Keith, Jeanie, Chloe, Lila & Tasmin and numerous great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, George Warren Dossett as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. David was preceded in Death by his brother John Thomas (JT) Dossett and sisters Dorothy Jongebloed and Bettye Ronning.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 1pm, Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the Horan & McConaty Chapel, 7577 W. 80th Avenue in Arvada, Colorado.
