David J Davis, 79, passed away at home in Aurora, CO on May 16, 2026 after a long, hard-fought battle with a heart condition.
He was born February 12, 1947 in Appling, GA and was the only surviving triplet. He was larger than life and lived his life making up for all three. David was known for his love of life, generosity and big smile. He loved going to casinos in later years and might be playing the slots in Heaven now.
He graduated from high school in 1967 before being drafted into the Army to serve in Viet Nam. He was wounded there and transported to Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver where he met his wife Linda. After serving 2 years in the Army he retired from the City and County of Denver after 34 years.
David was a member of Centennial Lodge #4, a 32nd degree Mason of Mountain Plains Consistory 33 and Syrian Temple No. 49.
David is survived by his wife Linda of 51 years, their sons Jonathan Davis of Las Vegas and Ryan Davis of Denver and one grandson Jonathan J Davis of Denver. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Augusta, GA, 2 nephews in Ft Collins. CO and a niece in Portland, OR. A sister-in-law and brother-in-law in Mexico, and nephews in Montreal and Los Angeles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 4 at 11am with viewing at 10am at Horan and McConaty, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO. A private military burial at Ft. Logan will be held at a later date.
