David Craig, 84, of Littleton Colorado, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer. Born in Madison Wisconsin on March 28th, 1940. David was a proud alumnus of the University of Wisconsin earning a BS degree in Pharmacy, where he met the love of his life Roberta Rowald on a UW band tour bus playing cards over a bass drum. They were married on June 26th 1965 in Magnolia Wisconsin. They moved to Colorado in 1966 for a love of the Rocky Mountains.
He was married for 60 wonderful years to his beloved wife, Roberta. David is survived by his sister Carolyn Shelp, daughter, Brenda (Paul) Reinicke; his son, Eric (Brenda) Craig; and four cherished grandchildren: Ben, Tim, Sydney, and Sammy. He was preceded in death by his parents David and Hazel (Janda) Craig, brother Robert Craig, and two infant sisters.
David dedicated over 55 years to his profession as a private pharmacist, and then on to Rite Aid and Walgreens, working to the age of 78 where he was known for his passion for helping others and his commitment to his patients. He believed deeply in education and acted as a preceptor to a number of interns. He was proud to be one of the first pharmacists to give flu shots and vaccines, attending hundreds of clinics and administering thousands of vaccines.
David was an avid traveler setting foot on all 7 continents with a final trip to Antarctica in 2014. He enjoyed many hobbies, including puzzles, music at church and a deep love for jazz. David held a particular love for sports, passionately cheering for the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies, Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers.
David will be remembered for his sense of humor, holiday outfits, his kindness, and unwavering support for his family.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday November 2, 11:00 AM, at Centennial Lutheran Church in Englewood CO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research / V foundation
