David Michael Cotter, a skilled carpenter and talented musician, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, in Thornton, Colorado. Born on August 5, 1954, in Denver, Colorado, David’s life was marked by his dedication to his craft and his passion for music, enriching the lives of many throughout his years.

David’s career was distinguished by his craftsmanship and creativity. As a carpenter, he brought to life countless projects, each imbued with a meticulous attention to detail and a genuine love for his work. Alongside his professional pursuits, David nurtured a deep connection to music, sharing his gift with friends and family and touching the hearts of those who had the privilege of hearing him play.

He is lovingly remembered by his two sons, Dustin and Ryan Cotter; his sister, Sheila St. Michael and his grandchildren, Meghan Cotter, Autum Cotter, Ethan Cotter and Layla Cotter, who survive him and carry forward his legacy of strength, integrity, and kindness.

Family, friends, and all who knew David will have the opportunity to pay their respects and celebrate his life at Horan & McConaty Funeral Service and Cremation - North Metro/Thornton, located at 9998 Grant St, Thornton, Colorado 80229. Visitation will be held on May 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until noon, followed immediately by the funeral service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Streaming of the service will be at https://foreverinourhearts.love/pages/david-cotter. Additional time for gathering and remembrance will continue until 2:30 p.m. on the same day at the funeral home.
