David Shawn Blair

David Shawn Blair, 60, of Littleton, Colorado; drew his last breath on 6/3/2026 at his home of 30+ years surrounded by family and his trophies of cherished memories.

David Blair was a leader, mentor, and inspiration to his family, friends, and colleagues. A man that could only be described as larger than life, David was both a mountain in character and stature. David always brought a chorus of laughter to a room with his light heart and quick wit. David wasn't the life of the party; he was the party.

David loved deeply and generously. Always deliberate with his words, David never hesitated to say "I'm proud of you" or "I love you" when he felt it. David will continue to live in the hearts and minds of anyone who is fortunate enough to know him.

As a lifelong collector, David's home stands as a monument to his love of art, travel, football, and storytelling though comic books. He leaves behind a wealth of mementos, a literal museum that tells a story of his adventures and accomplishments. His passion for superheroes is evident in how he lived his life until the end.

A master of his craft, David worked his life in excavation. Literally building up Colorado and its communities. Ambitious and fair, David mentored countless individuals giving the education and tools to succeed in business and life. A harder working man couldn't be found. Whether it was football or construction, you would want David Blair on your team to "Carry the Rock!"

David Shawn Blair is survived by his wife Chrissy Blair; brother Dan (Diane) Blair, son Logan Blair; and his bonus sons, Christian Kovach and fiancé Yeimy Martinez, Caleb (Kalei) Gaylord; s niece Sarah Blair. Dave is proceeded in death by his mother, Barbara Blair. He will be remembered as a loving husband, adoring father, true friend and titan of industry.

A single obituary cannot summarize the fantastic life David lived or the countless legacies he is leaving behind in his memory. If present today, he would use only one word for his final sign-off: EXCELSIOR! 

Visitation Thursday, June 11, 2026, 5:00-7:00 pm. Funeral Service Friday, June 12, 2026, 10:00 am, both at Horan & Mcconaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227. Interment Chapel Hill Cemetery, 12:00 pm. Reception to follow, location to be announced.
