Darrell Glenn Eson

Darrell Glenn Eson, age 71, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024 from a sudden heart attack. He was born on June 24, 1953 to parents Louise and Robert "Bob" Eson in Denver, Colorado.

Darrell gained his GED and joined the Navy soon after in 1976. During his time with the Navy he received training in many different areas, but mainly in electronics and followed in his father's footsteps. After his tour of duty for four years, Darrell returned to civilian life. After a few jobs, his father suggested going to an electronics school where Bob has once taught. Darrell received his diploma in electronics and began his lifelong career in the field. He worked with several electronic companies before being hired at Rocky Flats, where he worked until their closure. He went onto work with XCEL Energy as a technician, maintaining the boilers in the power plants until his retirement in 2015.

Darrell loved to bowl and was very good until arthritis in his hands became too painful. He was an avid reader as an adult, this the school kid who hated to read. Darrell loved dogs and had many in his lifetime. The last one was Beautie, his Golden Lab, the love of his life. Beautie loved Darrell and was very protective of him. She now has a new home, with a lady who loves her very much.

Darrell is survived by his mother, Louise Eson; brother, Kevin (Tierney) Eson; auntie, Ellen (Tony) Dattilo; uncle, Gerald (Judy) Riley; nephew, Chris Eson; niece, Michelle (Freddy) Atencio and numerous cousins.

Preceding Darrell in death was his father, Robert Eson and his grandparents, Orville and Ellen Riley, Eric and Theo Eson.

Memorial services are private for Darrell's family. He will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
