Danny "Bubba" Kennedy

April 20, 1949 — November 24, 2025

New Braunfels

Danny “Bubba” Ray Kennedy, 76, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on November 24, 2025. Born in Abilene, Texas, Dan lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love for his family.

A proud graduate of Abilene High School, Class of 1968, Dan enlisted in the United States Army the summer after graduation. He bravely served two tours in Vietnam from 1968 to 1971, an experience that shaped his deep pride in being a Vietnam veteran.

Following his military service, Dan continued his education, earning a degree from Navarro Junior College and later a Business Administration degree from the University of Houston. He eventually moved to Denver, Colorado, where he married his wife, DeAnn, and spent more than 32 years building a life full of hard work, friendship, and family.

Dan began his career as a newspaper circulation manager, a role he held for many years. He later became self-employed, successfully running his own satellite business for a decade. No matter the job or challenge, Dan approached everything with determination and grit.

He was a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos, the Denver Nuggets, and the Colorado Avalanche, cheering on his teams through every season. More than anything, Dan loved being a grandpa — it was one of his greatest joys.

Dan is survived by his wife, DeAnn; his son, Danny Kennedy Jr.; and his three daughters, Ashley Dorman, Brittney Pusch, and Kristin Tholson. He is also survived by five grandchildren — Emily Kennedy, Brianna Bender, Rylee LaRoche, Logan Clough, and Crew Pusch — and one great-grandchild, Jaxson Duncan. He is further survived by his three beloved dogs, Molly, Roscoe, and Boo Boo.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Thacker; his father, William Donnell Kennedy; and his two sisters, Debbie Ballard and Pat Harrelson.

Dan will be remembered for his loyalty, his humor, his stories, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in all who knew and loved him.
