Daniel Carl Manthey,75, passed away on June 14, 2026, while on an Alaskan cruise surrounded by family. He is survived by his soulmate Debbie Skipper, his children: Eric Manthey and Terri Manthey (Brandon Risch). Daniel had 4 grandchildren, which meant the world to him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Manthey and Barbara Keller and his brother, Michael Manthey.
Dan was many things. A Partner, a Father, a Grandfather, a Brother, a Nephew, and an Uncle. But also a great friend, a teacher, and a mentor to many. His passion for the outdoors will live on in his children and grandchildren. Dan was a Navy Vietnam Veteran and a computer programmer for Lockheed Martin, from which he retired around the year 2010. He could also repair almost anything. No challenge was too small.
Many will remember Dan as the silliest guy in the room. Dan loved a few good magic tricks. But loved nothing more than to tell a good joke. And for his family, he often told the same jokes to the many people he crossed paths with. He loved to make people smile.
He will be greatly missed. Dan would want you to make sure to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, and live each day like it is your last.
