Dan Haider, 54, passed away in his Southglenn condo with his parents, T.R. and Suzanne Haider, his closest friends, Mike and Joanne Elliott, and his very best 4-legged, one-eyed cat, Precious, at his side. Dan had fought a long-hard battle with colon cancer. He had been in the care of the Oncology Team - Dr. Friedrich, at UC Health Highlands Ranch for over two years. In January 2026, when chemo treatments halted, he was cared for by in-home hospice until his death. Mike Eliott was such a good friend that he would come to Dan at his beck and call and often watch golf with Dan - Mike watched TV and Dan mostly slept, but he knew Mike was there.
As a young boy, Dan was involved with Cub Scouts, playing soccer, and playing ice hockey throughout high school. Dan attended Mark Hopkins Elementary; Powell Middle School, and two years at Heritage High School. Dan also spent two years at New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, NM.
Dan was fun-loving, a jokester and prankster, caring deeply for friends and also animals. Dan had worked in food and beverage businesses; bartending at local Denver/Littleton pubs. His job until his passing was Lead Supervisor for Aramark Hospitality at Empower Field at Mile High.
As an adult, Dan loved playing golf - especially at Southglenn Country Club where he could walk to the course. A highlight of golfing was a trip to Edinburgh, Scotland and playing golf on St. Andrews golf courses.
Dan's best friends, Jenifer Roberts and her husband Dennis Gingras, treated him to one last vacation, traveling to Costa Rica in November 2025. Jenn told Dan that he could be sick at home, or he could be sick on the beach in Costa Rica - He chose the trip!
Dan is survived by his parents, T.R. and Suzanne Haider of Highlands Ranch, CO. His 2-month-old infant sister, Julie Ann Haider and 46 years old sister, Pamala Joy Haider Newell predeceased him.
