Dane Alexander Comstock was born on September 20, 1985, in Denver, Colorado, and spent most of his life in the Littleton area. He graduated from Arapahoe High School and later earned a degree in Accounting and Business from Western State University. He built a successful career in corporate accounting.
Growing up, Dane was active in sports and his community. He played competitive soccer throughout elementary and middle school and went on to play both lacrosse and football in high school. He was also a proud Boy Scout.
From a young age, Dane showed a caring and compassionate heart. During middle and high school, he volunteered at senior living communities. At just seven years old, he used his allowance to buy a T-shirt for a homeless man and helped gather food for those in need while participating in the March of Dimes Run/Walk. Throughout his life, he continued to put others first, including helping care for his grandparents during their illnesses.
One of Dane's greatest joys was being a father to his sons, Cayden and Dylan. He loved spending time with them through Boy Scouts, Soap Box Derby events, and helping coach Dylan's football team for a season. He was incredibly proud of both of his boys and cherished every opportunity to support and encourage them.
Dane had many interests and hobbies. He loved cars, sports, home improvement projects, and creating artwork with charcoal and pencil. He also enjoyed giving back to his community, volunteering at soup kitchens during Thanksgiving and helping those in need whenever he could. He was a loyal fan of Big Head Todd & the Monsters and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
Dane had dreams of earning his CPA designation and one day starting a nonprofit organization to support veterans, a reflection of his generous spirit and desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
Dane is survived by his father, Duff Comstock; his mother, Jan Stephan; his sons, Cayden and Dylan; his aunt, Charlotte Jones, great-aunt, Linda Eis; his cousins, Heidi Williams, Serena Lee, and Gabe Comstock; his beloved dog, Chloe; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norman "Bud" and Ginger Comstock, Harry and Geraldine "Geri" Jones, and his aunt, Katherine Blethen.
Dane will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, his love for his family, and the way he was always willing to help others. In his memory, we invite you to honor him with a random act of kindness for someone in need.
A Celebration of Life will be held in November.
