Dale Eugene Moulton, age 55, of Thornton, CO passed away on December 20th, 2017 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born on March 19th, 1962 in Sterling, CO to Stanley and Dorene (Bailey) Moulton. Dale grew up in Sterling and graduated from Sterling High School in 1981. Dale married Jane Kopfman, his high school sweetheart in 1984, and moved to Longmont Colorado where their daughter Jackie Moulton was born in 1989. Dale worked in many positions for various oilfield companies including Halliburton in Farmington, NM, where he was later employed overseas. Dale joined J & M Machine (founded by Jim and Mary Kopfman) in Platteville, CO, where he learned the art of manual machining from Jim, his father-in-law. Dale became part owner of J & M Machine with Jim, Mary and Joe Kopfman, who all shared a passion for the oilfield and everything that it stands for. After Jim and Mary retired in 2006, Joe and Dale continued to successfully manage and grow the company. Dale worked for J & M Machine 20 years before selling the business in 2014. Dale loved the adventures of life and all the enjoyment it brought to others. As youngsters, he and his 4 siblings enjoyed visiting their grandpaâs farm in Crook, CO, and attending church youth group together. Dale was strong-hearted, caring and fun to be with. He joined the Boy Scouts at a young age and excelled through the organization into his teenage years which drove his love for the outdoors. Dale was a talented athlete and excelled in sports through his high school years and passed this love on to his daughter. He was a member of BPO Elks #1336 in Sterling, CO for 34 years. Dale treasured spending time with his wife Jane and daughter Jackie and sharing their love of travel together. He enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing, hunting, shooting and sharing his sense of humor. Dale loved being with his family, boating and relaxing at their 2nd home in Cape Coral, FL. Dale is survived by his spouse of 33 years, Jane of Thornton, CO; his daughter Jackie of Denver; his mother Dorene of Sterling; his sisters Pam Claymon of Sterling, Karen (Dennis) Berg of Sterling, Janet (Sean) Justice of Cheyenne, WY, his brother Scott Moulton (Lori Fries) of Manitowoc, WI; his father in-law Jim (Rande) Kopfman of Brighton; Jeanne Simmons of Sterling; his brother-in-law Joe (Teri) Kopfman of Ft. Lupton and his sister-in-law Janet (Jeff) Kirkpatrick of Rifle. Dale is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was a major influence in their lives growing up; Ryan and Kayla Claymon, Kurt (Jenna), Kara and Kyle Moulton, Luke Justice, Jamie Mustard, Jeff (Bree) Chrisp and Katie (Peter) Woolley, and Skye and Reed Kopfman. He is preceded in death by his father Stanley Dale Moulton and mother in-law Mary Kopfman. Dale will be forever remembered by numerous great nieces and nephews, extended family, dear friends and business associates. The memorial service will be held at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 9998 Grant St. Thornton, CO 80229 on January 4th, at 2:00 pm. There will be a celebration in Dale's honor at the home of Joe and Teri Kopfman following the service.
