In Loving Memory
Curtis Alan Brown, 67, of Aurora, CO, was suddenly called to his eternal home on 21 July 2025. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Charles and Mettie Brown.
Curtis was a radiant light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence was a gift—steadfast, compassionate, and filled with quiet strength. A man of deep integrity and warmth, Curtis lived his life with purpose, laughter, and an unwavering love for those he held dear.
Curtis was born in Puebloe, Colorado, but his journey began in Salida, Colorado, where he graduated from Salida High School. He went to work at Climax mine for 4 years. He was proud of his time and made many friends. While working at Climax he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Metropolitan State University.
With a heart dedicated to service, he joined the United States Air Force, where he served faithfully for 21 1/2 years. Beginning in Military Pay and later transferring to Family Support, Curtis devoted himself to taking care of the families of deployed service members and their families—offering comfort, guidance, and genuine care during their most trying times.
Beyond his service, Curtis lived for the simple joys of life. He loved the thrill of Jeeping and the freedom of riding his motorcycle across open roads. Some of his happiest days were spent camping in the mountains, surrounded by the beauty of nature, his family, and his beloved fur babies. He lived with wonder and appreciation for life’s little adventures.
Curtis’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of many, but his legacy lives on in the love he gave so freely and the lives he touched so deeply. He will be remembered not for the way he left us, but for the beautiful way he lived—with compassion, courage, and joy.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Christin; his children Steve Brown (Cassandra) of Austin, MN; Sterling (Stephany) Brown of Pleasant Garden, NC; Alexandra Brown and Arianna Bambach, both of Aurora, CO. His cherished grandchildren: Allen, William, and Josephine—will grow up hearing stories of the extraordinary man he was. Curtis is also survived by his loving brother J. Earl Brown of Colorado Springs, CO, and sister Charyl Amick of Aurora, CO, Sister-in-Law Bethany Welty (Mark), Of CO Springs, Brother-in-Law William (Dottie) Fultz of Autryville, NC, Sister-in-Law Erin (Dave) Shirley of Mount Pleasant, PA, Sister-in-Law Katie Fultz of Mount Pleasant, PA, Father and Mother-in-Law William (Katie) Fultz of Mount Pleasant, PA, Step Mother Nina Brown of Albuquerque, NM along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
As we mourn his loss, we ask that you remember Curtis not with sorrow, but with gratitude—for the joy he brought, the love he gave, and the light he shared.
