Curt Allan Griffin, age 54, passed away from his battle with cancer in his home on July 9, 2024. He was an incredibly loved husband and father, among many other things, and is already greatly missed.
He was born in Fresno, CA on July 29, 1969, the youngest of four boys, and graduated from Atascadero High School in 1988. He was a phenomenal athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball all four years and was awarded Athlete of the Year in his senior year. He met his wife, Mary Lou, in 7th grade and also went to high school with her. They married in 1989 and moved to Colorado in 1993.
Curt was a true HVAC expert. He spent over 25 years in the industry building a career, much self-driven and taught, and worked hard to take care of his family. He worked at Mitsubishi Electric for 17 years as Technical Service Manager for the Western US and immensely valued his relationships which were true friendships with many of his coworkers and industry connections.
Curt loved sports and the outdoors. He was an avid fisher and hunter with his beloved chocolate lab, Bear, as his favorite companion. Another great love of his was Christmas, a time when he could always be found cheerfully listening to festive music and searching for the best decorations. The holiday season and all that came with it truly filled him with joy, though his real passion for it was celebrating Jesus. He was a devoted Christian his whole life.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, their son Cole, and their daughter Jamie and her husband Nick. He is also survived by two of his brothers, Robert and Eric Scott, as well as his mother, Linda Pasmore, and stepmother, Carol Ann Griffin, along with many other family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Ron Griffin, and his brother, Bryan Griffin. His memory and legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Memorial service and reception will take place at Horan & McConaty (11150 E Dartmouth Avenue) in Aurora, CO on Friday, July 26th at 11am. We hope that you’ll come to honor Curt and share your stories of remembrance with us.
