Cossie Mae Mills

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Cossie Mae Mills, a loving wife and mother, who departed this life on September 10, 2024, in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 83. Born on November 16, 1940, in Selma, Alabama, Cossie dedicated her life to her family and community.

In 1958, Cossie and her family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she took a job at the newly established United States Air Force Academy. Her career spanned many years and encompassed leadership roles in both retail and transportation industries. Cossie’s strong work ethic and dedication to service were evident throughout her life.

Cossie was an avid participant in various community activities. Prior to suffering a debilitating stroke, she cherished her time with her woman’s group in Cherry Creek, Colorado, enjoyed lively water aerobics sessions, and served as a deaconess and church mom to many at End Times Christian Center, providing love and support to those around her.

She is lovingly survived by her three sons, two grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren who will forever hold her memories close to their hearts.

Funeral services will be held in the main chapel at Horan & McConaty Funeral Service, located at 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO 80014. Visitation will begin promptly on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM, followed by a church service led by Rev. Malcom Guss, Pastor of End Times Christian Center, starting at 11:00 AM. Burial services will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

Cossie’s legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
