It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Constance Jean Cleaves Johnson, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and dedicated nurse, who left this world peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Connie, aged 73, departed on 12/28/2024 at 5:05 p.m., leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Born with a nurturing spirit, Connie devoted her life to caring for others, both in her personal relationships and as a hospice nurse. Her gentle touch and compassionate heart provided comfort to countless patients and their families during their most challenging times. Connie's dedication to her profession was matched only by her love for her own family, which included her three cherished daughters, 3 beloved grandsons, 2 treasured granddaughters, and beloved extended family. She was an adoring grandmother and aunt, always ready with a warm hug, a listening ear, and words of encouragement.
Connie was known for her headstrong nature and her ability to face life's challenges with grace and resilience. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and hope that she shared generously with those around her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was watching the leaves change in the fall, enjoying the fragrance of irises in the spring, or losing herself in the melodies of her favorite music.
A true lover of creativity, Connie enjoyed sewing, crafting, sudoku, puzzles, cooking delicious meals, and enjoying a good romcom, often bringing her family together for fun-filled afternoons of laughter and shared memories. Her sweet spirit and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Connie's legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, her grandchildren, and her many friends and family members who were touched by her kindness and love.
A celebration of life service will be held on May 5th, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Horan and McConaty funeral home located on 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, with a reception following where family and friends are invited to share their memories and honor her life.
Connie loved bright yellow, blue, and green and often said she wanted her memorial to be a joyous occasion. Please join us in wearing vibrant colors as we celebrate and remember the life of this wonderful lady.
