Clarence Arnold Siders Jr., “Red” as known to all his family and friends, passed away June 12, 2025 after a long and fulfilling life in Lakewood, Colorado. Born to a tough working family of engineers, both railroad and mechanical, in Fremont, Nebraska on January 10, 1932, the family soon relocated to Colorado.

Red grew up in the Westwood and Englewood neighborhoods and graduated from Englewood High School before his National Guard unit was activated and sent east. Upon being honorably discharged in 1952 as a Sergeant in the combat engineers he returned to Englewood. A few years later he met the love of his life, Charlene (Shari) Joy Kelly, and they spent the next 68 years together. Red became a surveyor for the Colorado Department of Highways and over the years planted his stakes throughout Colorado. Most notably was his work on I-25, I-70, and C-470 as they went from dreams into the reality we know today.

A “MacGyver” around the house he could just about make and fix anything. A skilled woodworker, mechanic, and landscaper. He was constantly upgrading their home in Green Mountain over the 58 years they lived there. His pride and joy was passing on to his two sons the skills, trades, and work ethics he learned from his father and grandfather.

Red was preceded in death by his wife Shari Siders, parents Clarence and Josephine (Polley) Siders, his older sisters Betty Jane and Alice Marie, and son Kevin. He is survived by his son Randy and wife Nancy Siders, four grandchildren; Jennifer, Sarah, Shannon, and Zachary, and numerous great grandchildren.
