Christina Ann Ulmer, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away on March 4, 2026, at a local healthcare facility in Wheat Ridge, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 55 years old.

Christina was born on November 10, 1970, in Somerset, New Jersey, to Oliver and Jacqueline (Larsen) Ulmer. Oliver and Jackie now reside in Arvada.

Christina was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Paul and Catherine Larsen, and her paternal grandparents, Robert and Ollie Ulmer.

She is lovingly survived by her parents; her brothers, Michael Ulmer (Andrea Ulmer) of Denver and Matthew Ulmer (Casey Fernandez) of Sherwood, Oregon; her cherished nieces, Jadelyn and Saadia Ulmer; her nephew, Andre Ulmer; her beloved fur babies, Claire and Deva; and many devoted aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Christina was an inspirational figure whose life was defined not by limitation, but by strength, faith, and perseverance. After suffering a spinal cord injury in a tragic car accident in 1993, Christina became a quadriplegic, and lived the majority of her life navigating the profound challenges associated with her condition. Yet through every obstacle, she remained vigilant, positive, and deeply spiritual. She fostered close and caring relationships with friends and family and served as a powerful role model to all who knew her.

Christina approached life with curiosity, determination, and an enduring sense of adventure. She was always searching for new and promising medical advances that might improve or alleviate the effects of her quadriplegia and related injuries, never surrendering hope. Professionally and personally, she sought purpose in service to others, working in a variety of roles — most meaningfully as a peer trainer, where she guided individuals with paralysis as they adapted to new and challenging life circumstances — and participating in group activities and clubs with others facing similar health challenges and conditions.

The theater brought her joy, and travel — both across the United States and abroad — satisfied her love of exploration and discovery. She also embraced the challenge of complex online games, not only for entertainment but as a way to sharpen her mind and stay mentally strong. Through it all, Christina lived with resilience, optimism, and a spirit that refused to be confined, and that left a lasting impression on countless lives.

A Celebration of Christina’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Horan & McConaty, 7557 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada, CO 80003.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Christina’s honor to That’s How I Roll (thatshowiroll.org), an organization supporting individuals living with paralysis.
