Cheryl Lynn Leilani Bean

July 9, 1970 — September 29, 2024

Aurora, Colorado

Cheryl Lynn “Sassy” Leilani Bean, 54, our beloved wife, mother, daughter and friend, passed away on September 29, 2024 in Aurora, Colorado. She was born July 9, 1970 in Kamuela, Hawaii, to Larry Maikui Ibana and Leonora Olinda Wright.

Cheryl Lynn graduated from Honoka'a High School in 1988. She became a woman Truck Driver in 1989. During this time, Hawaii was known for its sugar cane production. Hauling cane meant that Cheryl Lynn was driving in rain, mud, over and around mountains; in and out of valleys watching for the edges that were barely visible.

In 1996, she was diagnosed with LUPUS which in 2005 caused her to lose her kidneys and start dialysis.

In 2011, she performed as a Tahitian Hula dancer with the Hawaii All-State Marching Band in the New York Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with her daughter.

In 2013, she got a kidney transplant and got back into trucking after being out for 10 years. (Her first truck run lasted 39 hours.) She was lovin it!

During this time, she started motorcycle riding with the Kukia Chapter of Oahu. She found peace and love while riding. She was born to ride. She was free. She met so many wonderful brothers and sisters while riding. They all had a passion to ride and she fit right in.

In 2016 she started her non-profit called, the "Ladies of Hawaii Truckin'" supporting the Red Cross, LUPUS and Kidney Foundations. Through her non-profit, Cheryl Lynn and her Trucker women built a 2017 and 2018 Ladies Trucking Calendar. Cheryl Lynn and the Ladies were all constantly involved in Parades, Showcases, and Fundraisers throughout communities of Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island. She loved each and every one of the Ladies of Hawaii; and you know who you are…;)

In sharing her Ladies of Hawaii Truckin’ group, she was lucky to meet women from all around the nation that blessed her and the group with love and compassion. These experiences took her to the Caribbean, Florida, New Orleans, California, and a Long haul adventure through Texas.

Due to her medical issues, she moved to Colorado, being closer to her Daughter and exploring the beauty of the Rockies. Here she continued riding her Harley and met the Harley Owners Group (HOGS) brothers and sisters of Mile High in Denver. Discovering a new family and new places to ride, Cheryl Lynn not only was blessed with a new group, but also shared her blessings and prowess with others as she always had done in Hawaii and now in Colorado.

Her glory was that she was an inspiration to anybody she came in contact with. She was a Saint that we have always and will continue to look up to for her strength, her courage, her smarts, her wittiness, and above all, her beauty. Please remember her goodness, her sweet personality, her honest and true character. She was a one-of-kind woman and will be deeply missed.

Cheryl Lynn is survived by her Husband of 37 beautiful years, Ku’iokalani "Kui" Bean; Daughter, Ariana (Justin) Piercefield; Mother, Leonora Olinda Wright; Brothers, Shawn and Larry (Kanoe) Ibana; Sister, Cheri Ann (Nick) Scott. She was preceded in death by Father, Larry Makui Ibana; and by her two infant son's, Isaiah Mana’o’okalani Bean & Jeremiah Meyer Bean.
