Charles “Chuck” Matthew Markesbery, age 86, died on Saturday October 30th, 2021, after a long illness.
Chuck was born on September 29th, 1935 in Florence, KY. Having served in the Military for most of his life, Chuck lived in many Cities and Countries, until he retired in Aurora, CO from the United States Air Force and the United States Geological Survey. Chuck was a long-time member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Aurora, CO.
Survivors include his daughters: Kimberly (Chuck) DeVoe of CA, Michelle (Jeffrey) Toole of CO and Shanda (Fritz) Kitzmiller of CO. Several grandchildren: Ginny Markesbery, Jonathan (Lauren) Piol, Anthony (Natalie) Piol, Fred (Mateja) Kitzmiller, Clint (Cassie) Toole, Logan (Clint) Bryant and Amy Kitzmiller. Several great-grandchildren: Nathaniel Rodriguez, Savannah Calderon, Jaden Calderon, Nicolas Felix, Fenix Piol, Xander Piol, Emalee Toole, McKenna Piol, Roxie Piol, Arlan Toole and Harper Piol. Chuck was preceded in death by his spouse Patricia (nee Davis) Markesbery, his son C. Michael Markesbery, his parents Bert and Irma (nee Kessler) Markesbery and both of his sisters, Roberta “Bertie” and Audrey.
Services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, November 6, 2021 at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 1 Del Mar Circle, Aurora, CO 80011. Friends and relatives are welcome at 1628 S. Ursula Ct, Aurora, CO 80012 immediately following services.
