Charles Arthur “Chuck” Gardner, Sr.

September 26, 1943 – December 9, 2025

With heavy hearts but profound gratitude for his life, the family of Charles Gardner, Sr., announces his peaceful passing, surrounded by loved ones on December 9, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 26, 1943, in Denver, Colorado, Chuck lived a full and vibrant life rooted in service, family, and humor.

A barber for 64 years, Chuck’s mastery behind the chair touched countless lives with his craft, as could be seen in the deep relationships forged in his shop.

Chuck was a devout man of faith with a deep reverence for God, clearly displayed in the way he loved others. He cherished his relationship with his family, a father to Angelo, Charles Jr. (Mellissa), Ramona (Mike), and Michael. Chuck was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews. Surely, though, one of his greatest joys and favorite titles was being the devoted and proud Papa to his grandchildren; Charles III, Heather (Scott), Latiah (Dom), Jordan, Tyhaunnie, Taylor, Tori, Gavin, Justin (Alex), Brielle (Chris), Tressa, Ashley, Anthony, Adryan, and Colton, and his 16 great grandchildren.

For the past seven years, Chuck has been married to his wife, Vicki, whom he adored. Chuck and Vicki loved the quiet simplicity of time spent together at home, often talking on their front porch or watching westerns.

Fitting for a man who lived life warmly but boldly, Chuck’s favorite color was burgundy, as evident by his burgundy Harley that gifted countless memories and stories to so many relatives.

When Chuck wasn’t home watching his favorite show, Gunsmoke, fishing, or riding his Harley, you could often find him with his family. These gatherings almost always included one of his jokes and his own unmistakable chuckle that followed. Even if the joke was one of his favorite repeats, his delivery and kind eyes would bring laughter and joy as if it was the first time he told it.

Chuck was a man of many talents, but most importantly he modeled an example of faith, hard work, and unwavering love. As he transitioned from “the Army jungle,” and this life on Earth to an eternal one in Heaven, Charles Gardner, Sr., most assuredly heard the words of his Lord and Savior, “Welcome home, my good and faithful servant.”

As he looks down upon all of us, may we remember his wise words, “think good and good will happen,” and may we always remember to, “rock on!” He will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
