Catherine Therese Dixon

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cathy Dixon on March 6, 2025. Cathy was an exceptional person and a highly accomplished attorney.

Cathy made significant contributions throughout her career. After working with two Federal Judges after law school, she joined the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission for two decades. She was a Partner with Weil, Gotshal, and Manges for the last twenty-five years and is a leader in corporate law, business transactions, and disclosure. She was also an active leader within the American Bar Association throughout her career. She worked hard but always found time to be positive, kind, and generous to others. Her friends and colleagues loved her, sought out her wisdom, and her mentorship of others is one of her lasting legacies.

Survived by her partner Steve Frisk, Norfolk, VA; brother Bill Dixon and wife, Denise; brother John Dixon and wife Julie Buck; niece, Emily Dixon and nephew, Shane and his wife Crystal and their children Claire and Marissa.

A life celebration and funeral service will be held on May 8, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in Washington, D.C., at Oak Hill Cemetery. Address: 3001 R St. NW. A reception will follow at Certo restaurant @ the Royal Sonesta, DuPont Circle on the same day from 4-7 PM.
