Carolyn Kaye Ellis, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on October 18th 2025 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She was born May 28th, 1941, in Plaquemine, Louisiana. Carolyn Kaye grew up and attended schools in Louisiana and Mississippi. She graduated from Gulfport High School in 1959. After graduation, she attended nurses training in Pensacola, Florida, where she met Gary. After 2 children and a move to California, she excelled as a stay-at-home mom. She was the best Mommy. She was funny and quirky and sometimes spoiled; but always ready to participate in whatever came her way. She was involved with PTA, girl and boy scouts and, enjoyed hobbies like sewing.
In 1975, the family relocated to Colorado. Now divorced, she worked hard maintaining the family. She held employment at Komac paint, Denver General Hospital in the medical records department and finally Cargo Battery Company, where she worked with her beloved husband, Conrad Ellis. They were like peas in a pod. Creating a life that they loved until his passing. She kept busy by working with Faith Bible Chapel in their child care program. She loved all the children and enjoyed this job until the end of her days.
She is survived by a host of family members that includes her loving children, Gary Hanson (Dawn) and Susanne Wagner (Bob); wonderful grandchildren, Whitney, Ashley, Becky and Roger, and also eight great grandchildren, with one on the way.
A Memorial Service will be held 2pm, Monday, October 27th at Horan & McConaty, 7577 W. 80th Avenue. A reception to follow at the home of Whitney and Alex Rippy at 6062 Newland Street. Arvada, Colorado
