Caroline Ruth Bain

Caroline Ruth Bain, age 93, passed away in her home in Denver, CO, on August 21, 2023. She was raised in Woburn, MA, as the third daughter of Samuel and Rachel Cassidy, who later had one son.

At the age of 24, Caroline and two friends moved to Denver, CO. There she met and wed Russel Phillips in 1958. They had five children – Karen, Mary Ellen, David, Sharon, and Shirley. Russ passed away in 1997, after 39 years of marriage. In 1999, she met and wed Richard Bain, and they enjoyed 22 years together before he passed away in 2022.

Caroline was a devoted wife and mother and managed a lively household very creatively. She was an active participant in Bear Valley Church and donated her time and resources to various ministries. She loved to have her family gathered around her for a meal and stories. She was an avid Rockies and Broncos fan.

Caroline impacted everyone she met, and those who knew her remember her infectious smile, her ready laugh, and her joy of life. They also remember her love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If music was playing, Caroline’s foot was tapping.

Caroline is survived by her five children and their spouses, eight grandchildren and their spouses, and eight great-grandchildren, as well as her stepchildren and step-grandchildren, her nephews and a niece. She is preceded in death by her husbands, parents, sisters, brother, and a niece.

A memorial service will take place at Bear Valley Church in Lakewood on August 31, 2023, at noon, with a reception immediately following at the church.
