Carole Dee Longbella

May 28, 1935 — November 9, 2014

Carole Dee Longbella (Schulz), 79, passed away unexpectedly after a tragic fall on Sunday, November 9, 2014. A beloved and fun-loving mother, aunt, grandmother, friend and co-worker to so many. Carole graduated from Ashland High School- in Ashland Nebraska. She worked in a bank in Ashland after high school until moving to Denver in 1954 with her best friend. She immediately went to work for United Airlines where she worked for 35 years in various administrative and flight operation positions until her retirement in 1991. Carole married the love of her life, Jack Dennis Longbella on April 12, 1958 and had two children Teri Dee and John Dennis. They were married until Jack passed unexpectedly on a business trip in 1971. Carole loved the theatre, and always had a passion for art and entertainment. She had a life long desire to sing and dance, never missing an opportunity to attend a traveling Broadway show or a new art exhibit. After retirement, Carole volunteered at Metro CareRing along with being very involved with the Retired United Airlines Employees Association (RUAEA), working closely with many of her friends and acquaintances from over the years at UAL. In addition, Carole loved to travel and spend as much time as possible with her grandchildren, children and her huge circle of friends that meant so very much to her. She is survived by her sibling Roger Schulz, daughter Teri (Peter) Koclanes, son John Dennis/JD (Terri), grandchildren Brooke (Joey) Vanhavermaat, Kelly (Ben) Huelsing, Nicole (Taylor) Hudson, and John Tyler Koclanes: numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, wonderful friends and co-workers too numerous to list. True to Carole's wish- A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 13 at 4:00pm at the Greek Community Center of Denver, 4610 East Alameda Ave. in the auditorium where here family and friends will gather in a joyous remembrance of Carole and her wonderful life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carole's honor may be made to: Metro CareRing, P.O. Box 300459, Denver, CO 80203 or their website at http://www.metrocarering.org.
