Carol Wendt

December 10, 1938 — March 18, 2023

Carol Ann Wendt was born December 10, 1938, in Rock Springs Wyoming, to Elizabeth and Stanley Wendt. She graduated from the University of Wyoming with a med-tech degree and moved to Denver, where she spent several years working in the labs of major hospitals. She then moved to the fast-growing resort of Vail, where she skied, worked various jobs, and got an early introduction to real estate development. She returned to Denver in the early 70s and began a long, and with her great foresight and intuition, successful career in real estate, as both a broker and landlord.

Through the years, Carol was an inveterate traveler, including trips to a variety of European countries, the wonders of whale watching in Baja California, a launch of the space shuttle Discovery, and jaunts to New York City. She also tried living in Las Vegas for two years, but decided Denver was where she was meant to live. She liked to say she was always “game” for new adventures, which prompted her to go to Los Angeles and try out for game shows, (Alas, she didn’t get on.) She took up golf, and became a dedicated bridge player. She was honored with an award as Colorado’s best new player in the 1990s, and at the time of her passing had achieved the rank of Bronze Life Master status. She enjoyed spending time with her numerous friends and her family.

Carol is survived by her sister Roberta Vider, brother-in-law Kevan Vider; her nephew Harold Brad Boschetto and niece Kimberlee Boschetto; great nephews Travis Bridle and Danny Luksa; and great nieces Brenna Boschetto and Camryn Luksa. Her great-nephew Ryan Bridle preceded her in death.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held from 3 to 5 the afternoon, Saturday, May 13, at the Denver Woman’s Press Club, 1325 Logan St., Denver.
