Carol Cannon Vera, born in Chicago, IL to Abram and Sylvia. She grew up in Park Ridge, IL as the youngest of three, with Jim and Meg. She showed early promise on her unicycle, but also was talented at cheerleading, horse riding, and hiking.
For college, she attended CU Boulder, where she met her husband Leo Paul. They were married in Grand Lake, CO, and relocated around the front range before settling in Five Points, Denver, where they raised their 6 children. There was always room to encourage her children's interests, even if she didn't understand them. Her children hold precious the memories of time spent side by side with Carol, cleaning the church, planning hit Halloween costumes and even being bested in Dr. Mario.
She was an excellent cook, seamstress, and balanced the tight family budget. She loved eating good food, including lamb, fine chocolates and coffee, and butter. Her palate was refined, but always expanding, from curiosity about her world. After the children moved out for college and life, she worked at REI, became a passionate Nuggets fan, and continued practicing piano.
As the family and friend circle grew, she had room in her heart for each new member. She was an avid gardener, providing ample vegetables for the family and beautifying the home. She wasn't a complainer, and she said "yes" knowing God would provide.
