Carol Eileen Tharan

Carol Eileen Tharan, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, was born on April 2, 1962, in Denver, Colorado. She passed away peacefully in her hometown on May 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and kindness that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Carol was the beloved daughter of the late J. Gordon Tharan and Marjorie A. Tharan. She grew up with siblings who, like her parents, have gone before her: her dear sister Catherine A. Tharan and brother James G. Tharan. Though these family members have departed, Carol’s spirit and the foundation they built remain alive in the hearts of those she left behind.

She is survived by her loving brothers Dennis M. Tharan and Daniel R. Tharan, and her sister M. Valerie Stewart. Her family also includes five nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews, all of whom were deeply cherished by Carol. To her nieces and nephews, she was more than an aunt; she was a constant source of joy and support. She delighted in their lives, sharing in countless adventures—from school events to family outings—always encouraging and nurturing with her infectious warmth and generous heart.

Carol was known for the beautiful qualities that shone both inside and out. Humble and loving, she carried herself with grace and kindness. Her devotion was not only visible in her family life but also in her faith. A very devout Catholic, Carol attended Mass as often as possible, finding strength and solace in her spirituality.

Her passions were many and heartfelt. Carol was an ardent and staunch fan of the Denver Broncos, never missing a single game, celebrating their victories as enthusiastically as she celebrated everyday joys with her family. Her creative hands crafted countless crocheted items, lovingly made for family members and charitable causes alike. These treasured handmade gifts were symbols of her dedication to others and her desire to spread comfort and happiness. Carol’s thoughtfulness extended beyond actions to her sentiments; she never missed the chance to send a greeting card to her loved ones, ensuring that no special moment went unmarked.

Her presence was a blessing, her smile a comfort, and her caring nature an enduring gift to all who were privileged to know her. Carol Eileen Tharan’s life was a testament to love in its purest form—a life spent nurturing, caring, and uplifting.

Later that afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., the service will move to Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, where Carol will be laid to rest.

Though she has left this world, Carol’s gentle spirit remains ever present, engraved in the lives of her family, friends, and community. She was loved deeply and will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten. In remembering Carol, we celebrate a life that was truly beautiful inside and out.
